LOOKING AT THE DATA, CAN YOU GUESS THE SOURCE?

The world we agenda in has become a semi-digital environment and through quantified self technology our bodies are also part of the Internet of things. Everything has turned into data. What does that mean for us humans with our analog senses? How is our data literacy? Will Big Brother be the only one understanding the infinitely growing amount of Big Data we're producing?

SMART CITIZEN CHALLENGE

To test if we humans are capable to read, understand and agenda in such a world of data, we're launching a challenge. During the Dutch Design Week anonymous sensors will be hidden throughout the city, thanks to a new "IoT" network. This website will collect and visualise all the data from these sensors. Can you guess the location and source of the sensors? What's the story they are telling us? Do they monitor temperature, humidity, emotion or movement? Do they track the speed of passing traffic or your cat's nightly paths? Or are -YOU- being tracked?

WHAT, WHERE, WHEN?

Test your data-literacy or pass by at the "Make the Future" exhibition at VMBA to pick up a sensor package and contribute to this project if you have an interesting city spot in mind you want to measure. Contact: info@internetofanonymousthings.com
